And welcome to the first day of summer! With quite a stiff northerly wind blowing and cloudy skies, we're going to wrap up warm tonight and try to have some fun just off the beach at Chalkwell with a 'technical session'. Meeting about 7.15pm for a 7.30pm launch (at www.wetndrysup.com/sup-locations/chalkwell-beach/ – nearest postcode, SS0 8JJ) we won't be going far, just practicing turns, skills and maybe some fun sprint racing tucked out of the wind close inshore. Leashes compulsory, and neoprene is a good idea as although the water's warmed up some now, the air won't feel so warm tonight... The sea should stay flat but there is an offshore wind, so everyone needs to be capable of paddling themselves ashore unaided if necessary!
