Soirée: Basetrack Live-Free Event for UIS Students

Sangamon Auditorium welcomes Basetrack live to the stage Wednesday, September 28th, at 7:30pm. The student lounge, located in the House Left (tower 2) lounge area on Level 5 of PAC, will be open at 6:30pm. Tickets will be available to students on a first come first served basis at the ticket office during normal business hours or at the lounge itself. Students must have their I-Card with them in both cases. Lounge will include snacks and drinks before and after the show.

The acclaimed producing company En Garde Arts brings you Basetrack Live, called “an exhilarating evening of documentary theatre” by The New York Times and named one of the “Top Ten” theatrical productions of the year. Based on the true stories of Marines who served in Afghanistan and their families, it was called, “a viscerally powerful depiction of war and its aftermath” by National Book Award winner Phil Klay. With a magnetic electro-acoustic score, the show provides an intimate portrait of military families both during deployment and after, sharing their stories with warmth, humor and raw honesty. Basetrack Live points to the brave men and women who figure out how to find the courage to rebuild their lives and begin again.
