Top Canadian band, Petunia and The Vipers made a triumphant UK debut at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow 2013.
Since then, the whole band have toured the UK on two occasions, wowing audiences everywhere and playing to big crowds.
However in November and December 2014, Petunia himself will be touring both Ireland and the UK together with another stunningly talented musician, Nathan Godfrey, with whom he has toured extensively on the USA and Canadian circuit for many years in a duo format.
As a duo, Petunia and Nathan will be playing acoustically and in a rootsier groove. Audiences can expect covers of Hank Williams, Lefty Frizell, Jimmie Rodgers, Riley Puckett and Jelly Roll Morton, as well as a strong collection of original songs, written by Petunia, including many already known to fans of the band.
The music of Petunia is infectious; his singing ranges from the most delicate to the most powerful, often within a single song, whether hillbilly-flavour,swing or ragtime-goodtime.
Petunia accompanies his vocals on guitar. His multi-talented side-kick Nathan, who joins him on vocals and resonator guitar, mandolin or banjo, is recognised as one of the leading old-time performers in Canada and also hosts his own radio show.
