Soirée: And They Spoke in Anthems & The Antler King (Belgium)

3 years ago I went on ‘walkabout’ in Australia where I survived by playing small concerts and busking.
Upon my return in Europe I started writing new songs and playing solo concerts and eventually winning the National music contest ‘De Beloften’.
I released these songs on my first album ‘June’ (WMR/V2 – Bertus) last february, and played many gigs in Belgium this spring and summer.

The Antler King is a Belgian based indie rock band. The music is created by Esther Lybeert (drums/Lead Vocal) and Maarten Flamand (guitar/backing vocals), the writer/singer/composer couple that is the heart of the band.
The band released a first, nameless album in 2011, which quickly got noticed in the music scene and the press, so it's only logical that their second album Patterns soon followed.

The album received great reviews and also bagged the only Belgian nomination of the 2014 Berlin Music Video Awards.
