Amoss:
Amoss are a UK Drum & Bass duo known for their raw production style, bringing a new level of ridiculousness to the all too serious Drum and Bass scene.
The duo first met at a High School party, sharing a bottle of Cointreau and discussing their mutual love for Slayer. Shortly after, they decided to begin a musical partnership, jamming and writing music on a daily basis. After a few experimental years of death metal, funk and hip hop, they delved into the realms of Drum and Bass. With a pair of belt-drive Numarks, a copy of Ableton 5 and a few issues of Computer Music Magazine, Amoss was born.
Quickly finding influence from artists such as Calyx, Noisia and Phace their interest was sparked in the darker side of the genre.
Skip forward to December 2010 and the duo saw their first 12″ single released on Cyclone Recordings in the form of the half-time muddy dub influenced track ‘Glurg Monster’ which marked the first of many releases to come. The duo established themselves as ones to watch with their acclaimed track ‘Flex’ in 2011, their first release on the legendary record label Renegade Hardware.
Since then, the pair has built a impressive discography of over 70 tracks, releasing on labels such as Dispatch Recordings and Horizons Music, all whilst gaining support from the likes of Noisia, Spectrasoul, Dub Phizix, London Elektricity and more.
From the clubs of Vienna to Los Angeles, to the festival stages of Outlook and regular hometown slot at Nozstock, Amoss have toured extensively across Europe, North America, and most recently Australia and New Zealand. To put it simply their fridge magnet collection is something to be reckoned with.
During their downtime the duo continue to live and breathe music, regularly cracking open the champagne and recording their infamous podcast ‘The Cranium Sessions’. The show is not only an outlet to play the latest from the underground scene whilst heavily supporting unsigned and upcoming artists, but a competition between the friends to outdo each other in their musical finds.
