Join the conversation about the origins, heritage, and impact of the genre of Grime music on Britain. The panel consists of influential music artists such as Chip, Sian Anderson of Radio 1xtra, Joseph Patterson of Complex Magazine (UK), and Grime Scholar Monique Charles.
Grime music had its inception around 2003 and since it has absolutely revolutionised music in the UK. It would be difficult to argue that this hasn’t been extremely significant impact on the Black British community and has been largely led by this community too. On this evening we will explore what Grime is, what it means to the UK and it’s important impact on defining black Britishness.
