The Flying Duck will be closing its doors this Sunday for 5 days to undergo a grand refurb. We'll be taking the place apart and putting it back together the other way round as the venue space swaps with the bar space. We'll be celebrating our new fully equipped venue space and bar area with a serious launch party featuring live music from
Bass Clef (PAN/Idle Hands)
Bass Clef is London based producer, trumbone player, modular synth manipulator and DJ, Ralph Cumber. With a series of revered releases on PAN, ALTER, We Can Elude Control, Mordant, Iberian Recordings and Idle Hands, Bass Clef live sets at present find him in peaktime technoid carnival mode, rugged 808s and fuzzy Detroit rushes meshing with irresistible whistle-crew rave gestures, globe-munching percussive flourishes and cosmic trombone undertows.
Subbed Out live on Subcity Radio
Subcity launch the first live broadcast from The Flying Duck in what will become a regular show with a rotation of hosts, highlighting the best of the station in a live environment. To start, 12th Isle Transmissions will be facing off with Unearthly Matters taking you deeper into the aether and launching the right way.
David Barbarossa (Wild Combination/Strange Paradise)
The king spins wax into the wee hours - Expect global sounds with a disco sheen guaranteed to make you move.
Daniel (Night of the Jaguar)
NOTJ resident, Dan brings the party to the Duck with a mix of leftfield and outer-national disco, weirdo house and techno putting our system through its paces.
Dick 50 (Akashic)
Anarchic noise-party quartet featuring members of Golden Teacher and Blue Sabbath Black Fiji present the gurning underbelly of doom-house trax. Beat driven chaos.
Bad Parenting
Passion Pusher's James,THEE Sean Armstrong and the all-living, all-breathing, Waldo unite to serve a platter of lo-fi scuzzy odd-pop thats sweet to the taste and sharp to the touch.
