Soirée: LEAN TO - PERFORMING IN THE MAIN LOUNGE SATURDAY 14TH FEBRUARY FROM 8PM

"Lean To" are Mike Caen and Luke O'Neill.

Mike has played and recorded guitar with many well-known Australian acts, including Mental As Anything, Dragon, Jenny Morris, Adam Brand, and many more. He has also composed music for TV shows such as Mythbusters, Getaway and Better Homes And Gardens, recorded guitar for Farmer Wants A Wife, as well as playing on numerous recording sessions and ads. As a writer signed to EMI, he has written songs recorded by Dragon and Daryl Braithwaite, and co-written with Tina Arena. He also writes and records Production Music CD's for companies in Australia, US, UK and Germany.

He has also written music for Sydney Dance Company's "Shakespeare Dances", and composed the score for the documentary "Bush Doctor".
Luke is a guitarist and composer living in Sydney, Australia. He grew up in Sydney where he started his professional career as jazz and rock guitarist. At 21 he left Australia to travel in South America where he worked as singer/guitarist in the Brazilian city Belo Horizonte. After this travel period Luke returned to Australia and completed a performing arts degree in composition at Southern Cross University, Lismore.
He then moved to Melbourne where he worked as a composer for dance, theatre and film and performed with the Musica Viva group ‘Journey Journey’.Luke O'NeillDuring this time Luke worked with Aboriginal bands from Yuendumu, an isolated community in the Northern territory. Luke produced the album ‘Way out west’ for the Wakulyarri band and wrote the music for his second album ‘Wakulpa’. Having started to produce recordings Luke set up the ONMUSIC company to promote and distribute his work in 1994. Since this time Luke has produced 3 album titles, performed on many CD projects and produced recordings for several songwriters and bands.He has written soundtracks for video and film as well as for dance performance pieces. In 1990 he received the A.P.R.A. Young Composers Encouragement award. Other awards include the 1994 ABC/Melbourne Fringe ‘Best music award’ for the show ‘Wakulpa’ (with drummer Glenn Mortimer). A 1998 grant from the Ian Potter foundation enabled Luke to travel to Ireland to further his studies in Irish traditional music.Luke’s interest in Irish music has become a strong influence in his musical output. His expertise as a guitarist in this area also gains him work with some great Australian and overseas artists who employ him for recording and touring.
