EGi:
EGi (Ethereal Groove, Inc.) is an infectiously danceable experimental funk group from the Chicagoland area. Featuring Joe DeLucca on bass, Noe Perez and James Hernandez on guitar, Devon Bates on drums and Mike "Gonzo" Gonzalez on percussion. This young and energetic group pushes the limits of improvisation, writing, and energy-rich shows. Fusing funk, rock, and instrumental post-rock into something that feels familiar, and yet totally new, the band displays great versatility and a progressive appreciation for many genres.

Wavy Train:
The Wavy Train concept was born from the death of Jerry Garcia. Founding members Cal Taylor (Rhythm Guitar, vocals, songwriter) & Chris Caudle went -as young pups- to the Garcia memorial at Freedom Park & played Grateful Dead tunes for mourning Heads. Inspired from the experience, Cal & Chris enlisted college friends John Dimier (bass)& Rob Armstrong (keys) to begin the Wavy Train journey. The name was taken from the infamous prankster Wavy Gravy and combined with the words "....we're riding the Gravy Train." from the end of Pink Floyd's 'Have a Cigar'.
The core original band with the longest tenure was Ben Speir on drums, Jason Byrd on lead/songwriter, & Stefan Hawkins on percussion. Chris Caudle left for the West coast. This was the lineup that began as a Dead tribute band but began to experiment with original music. Wavy Train Theatre, released an acclaimed album,'One Big Happy Accident'. Wavy Train played all over NC, SC, Va, DC and TN, played many festivals, shared stage w Bob Weir & Stevie Winwood, ( Cal Taylor was even asked to join Dark Star Orchestra as the "Bobby" but remained dedicated to the original direction.
Over time domestic life started to take hold of many members of the band, & recently Cal Taylor had revamped the "bionic" Wavy Train w/ 2 ying yang lead guitars Charlie Trexler( Scofield,Kimock) & Nick Weaver( Herring, Haynes), a soulful Hammond B3 Leslie/Rhodes player bringing sounds of Brent Mydland/Merl Saunders, and an incredible rhythm pocket of Joey Williams & Mario Ellis on bass( interchangeable) to go along w the steady dynamics of Dave Krusch and a hybrid drum/ percussion player Matt Curl. This band has gotten bigger, better, and stronger. You will hear their influence from Talking Heads, Phish, Steely Dan, QOTSA, Rage, Ween, Radiohead, Marley, Zep and of course the Dead, in their originals and esoteric covers.
