Soirée: Dave Courtney OBE Live at The Duke

'Dodgy' Dave Courtney OBE is an ex-London gangster, once known as the 'yellow pages of the underworld'. Since abandoning that lifestyle, he has become a best-selling author, film director, actor, club promoter, magazine columnist and even a radio DJ.

Dave brings the world premier of his new show to The Duke in Neath and he is bringing his best mate Brendan Mcgirr with him to tell naughty stories that will have you in fits and give you an insight into his roller coaster of a life. As Dave will tell you himself, he is better at telling stories than he ever was at being a criminal. In this show you will get to see him at his funniest and his most personal.

Come and hear the answers to the questions that only the people closest to him dare to ask. How did a well known boxer's fish die? Why is your best mate a coward who can't fight? What do you do when a stable of bare knuckle fighters cancel the event in your back garden and you've bought five hundred chicken breasts at a discount price? How do you get a Jacuzzi off the top of an illegal drinking den? And why are you putting on Vietnamese raves in the dungeon in your garden? Why do you have a dungeon in your garden? Day to day life for a naughty man gone straight is stranger and more eventful than you can possibly imagine. Dave has met just about everyone, from the Krays to the Triads and he will explain why he would never recommend that anyone becomes a criminal.

There are dozens of people who visit his house at Camelot Castle and some of them are (to put it politely) very interesting. There will be a Question and answer and session too. There needs to be. This is storytelling at it's best – the types of yarns that you couldn't make up, told by a born raconteur.
