Jacob Augustine
Jacob Augustine is a folk musician from the northern woods of Maine. While living in California in 2008, he recorded his first full-length solo album 'Harmonia.' The record was included in several year-end top ten lists and its single "High Water" received airplay on hundreds of radio stations across the country. Over the past three years, Jacob has released four albums, ranging from heavily-orchestrated full-band affairs to raw, stripped-down solo recordings. Of his latest record, the Portland Press Herald stated, " 'Bikini Island' is an affecting, arresting release, one of those rare pieces of musical art that stays with you long after the last note has faded and your speakers have grown silent." Jacob has toured the country coast-to-coast many times over the last decade, and shared the stage with acts such as Brown Bird, Timber Timbre, O'Death, Simone Felice, Death Vessel, The Wooden Birds, Dan Mangan, Sean Rowe, Nicole Atkins, Los Lonely Boys, and Field Report. He's hard at work on several new recording projects, with his working quartet of percussionist Peter McLaughlin, bassist Asher Platts and multi-instrumentalist McKay Belk.
Phoenix Bloom
Eons ago, long lost, a forgotten history lies just beneath the surface of reality. A delivery upon the planet, a drop in the bucket of the universe... The shadow of the moon-ship arose on the horizon, and the Phoenix descended to the Earth, delivered upon the wings of the Nephilim. Their ancestors provided the most basic of supplies to allow for their survival, until such a time as they could return to the father-ship and continue on the journey, spreading the Spacegrass music that fuels them unto this dimension and all others beyond. This, my friends, is only the beginning……
Kyle Adem
Kyle Adem is an eclectic singer/songwriter from Knoxville, TN. His sound borrows from the vast vernacular of folk, indie-pop and Americana in order to create a truly compelling and personal narrative in the vein of visionary artists the likes of Tom Waits, , Bright Eyes, Bob Dylan or Johnny Cash, just to name a few.
Adem's earnest and evocative blend of lyricism is a big part of his music: The storytelling approach is emotional, yet highly relatable, as showcased on his latest EP, Beautiful Dreamer. Songs such as "Goodnight, July" transcend the folk footprint and dive into experimental sounds with a dream-pop flavour: such details highlight Kyle's willingness to set the bar higher and bring a sense of authenticity and realness to the music.
Zack Miles
An eastern Tennessee native, Zack Miles blends a unique fingerpicking style inspired by bluegrass banjo with modern folk. His style has been described as "simplistic in that it's only one man and his acoustic guitar, but the quick, intricate finger-picking allows him to get a lot of mileage out of his one instrument. Miles has a background in banjo, and it shines through in his guitar playing today." The album "The Early Riser and Other Midnight Stories" has been described as the perfect soundtrack to a rainy fall day.
His second album, Northern Camp, was released in early April 2015. "Zack Miles' playing style (on Northern Camp) is like a swimming duck. (Stay with me...) Calm above the surface, what you hear is beautiful, somewhat tranquil folk singing. But underneath, his hands and fingers are furiously moving and picking, like a duck's feet propelling through water, taking the music where it needs to go. His vocals and instrumentation are contrasting, and that's one of the things that makes his music so compelling." -KMW
"If you haven’t seen Zack Miles play the guitar/banjo, you are really missing out. Probably one of the most talented musicians in Knoxville, Tennessee." -SRSLive
