A refreshing surprise hit of our 2016-17 season, the Gerard Weber Sextet is made up of musicians who share a common interest in the music of renowned jazz and fusion guitarist Pat Metheny. Saxophonist Gerard Weber and his bandmates reimagine Metheny’s compositions in a soundscape that focuses on electronic manipulation and processing of traditional acoustic instruments. The opening set will be played by FrancoFunk. This 11-piece funk-soul jazz ensemble from École canadienne-française Pavillon Gustave-Dubois is directed by Sarah Suchan.
