Building on the continued success of the Dereham Blues festival - now in its third year, Norfolk Blues Society (NBS) (http://nofolkbluessociety.org.uk) has organised a four day blues festival for all of Norfolk and beyond to enjoy.
Just like last year, the best blues bands and artists in the the region and guests from further afield will be playing at venues in the centre of Dereham, we are lucky to have the following three bands playing at Number 40 this coming Saturday:
Brass Tacks blues duo, on from 5pm - 6pm, they are made of Danny Voisey and John Watcham, John is a respected harmonica player and blues singer in East Anglia. A veteran of many popular blues bands John has a superb feel for the blues and nails it every time.
Danny Voisey is a versatile guitarist equally at home playing slide on his resonator or classic Chicago blues on his old strat. He even knows a few jazz chords.
Dani Dorchin Music, on from 7pm - 8pm, he is a musician and songwriter, performing in the one man band tradition, combining electric guitar, harmonica, foot drums and vocals for a powerful effect of energetic, groovy garage blues.
Dani is a self taught musician who learned his craft the old way, by studying the classic blues records and by years of travelling, working odd jobs and meeting musicians all over the world.
The Mojo Preachers, on from 9pm - 11pm, they are a five-piece, Norfolk based, group of musical bandits dedicated to performing their own funky, soul 'Mojo' mix of blues, delivering well known, not so well known and original tunes.
The Mojos take influence from the likes of Robert Cray, The Allman brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Little Feat, The Metres, Steely Dan, Matt Schofield, Cream, JJ Cale and more..
With a common love of the Blues the Mojo Preachers are not just a blues band.
Come along and join us and see some amazing bands play.
