The Windshield Vipers are the latest concept to pop out of McMenamins' music laboratories, an all-star supergroup playing classic hits and hidden gems.
The starting rotation of players comes from many bands and just as many genre of music, such as Quarterflash, Crazy 8s, Lily Wilde Big Band, Freak Mountain Ramblers, X-Angels, Rodney Crowell Band, The Gas Hogs... the list goes on. The debut shows at Ringlers Pub features Lex Browning (guitar, violin, sax, vocals), Danny Schauffler (keyboards, sax, vocals), Rich Gooch (bass, vocals), Jon Koonce (guitar, harp, vocals) and Tom Royer (drums,vocals).
The ability to switch instruments between players is matched by the ever changing styles of songs, from blues to rockin' country swingin' blue grass jazz punk polka. Pair that up with the many flavors of McMenamins taps and you got a good time that is a unique experience every show.
