Let’s be honest, Kid Kenobi has always been about the party! Back in the olden days (when he first started DJing) he would throw down sets of early breakbeat mixed with party hip hop, old school rave, and jungle. Though he’s journeyed near and far in search of the perfect beat, 2014 sees the Kid going back to his roots and bringing some of that early flavour back! ‘I want to write the kind of music I actually like to DJ: fun, bouncy, party music! I want there to be less of a gap between my studio and my dancefloor,’ he says.

Being the first DJ ever to have a CD series named after him by Ministry of Sound, to having an itinerary that reads like a Lonely Planet guidebook to the best nightclubs around the world), it seems Kid Kenobi still has a tonne of things left to do! Indeed perhaps the Kids greatest triumph is his ability to keep on evolving and growing as an artist. Music trends come and go, clubbers retire, scenes change, and awards gather dust but Kid Kenobi, it seems, is here to stay.

Producer, DJ and Label Boss, Alex Preston is the man behind the growing house music juggernaut that is Preston Recordings. With support from the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Fatboy Slim, Chuckie, Larry Tee and The Stafford Brothers; several Beatport Top 10 releases; and, numerous mixes climbing the ARIA Club Charts, its easy to see that Alex Preston is on the road to big things.
It’s not all Preston Recordings for Alex though, he has also been hand picked by the likes of Larry Teeto remix for Ultra (US) and his label Carnage Music (UK). Alex has also been scooped up by Australian guru Kid Kenobi and signed to his infamous Klub Kids label with several huge releases planned for 2013. Alex’s recent collaboration with Melbourne based Teddy Cream has also seen him sign to Mobin Master’s label, Safari Music.

Preston Recordings have recently had their first releases in the ARIA Club Charts.
